Further information
Two collections, one boulevard
First the Prado: Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Titian and Bosch, with Las Meninas, the Black Paintings and The Garden of Earthly Delights explained rather than recited. Then thirty minutes on foot along the Paseo del Prado — part of the tour, not dead time — to the Thyssen-Bornemisza, the private collection that fills in what the Prado does not have: the Italian primitives, Dürer and Holbein, the Dutch masters, the Impressionists, German Expressionism and American painting.
Private for your group
About four and a half hours in total: 2 h at the Prado, the walk between the two museums and 2 h at the Thyssen. We book both time slots in advance, in the order the museums have space for your date.
