Further information
A full day in Segovia, unhurried and just for your group.
We pick you up at 9:30 at your hotel or apartment in Madrid and drive to Segovia in a hybrid Toyota Yaris. The car is small on purpose: it moves easily through the narrow streets of the old town and pollutes far less.
Before we go into the city we stop at the Alcázar viewpoint, where the fortress stands over the valley like the prow of a ship. It is the photo everyone wants to take home from Segovia.
Then we walk for about 2 to 3 hours, at whatever pace suits you. We start at the Roman aqueduct, granite blocks fitted together without a drop of mortar and standing for almost two thousand years. We go up Calle Real to the Plaza Mayor and the cathedral, known as the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain, which we see from the outside. Then we carry on through the old Jewish quarter to the Alcázar, where your entry is already included: you explore it on your own, as there is no guided tour inside the monument.
Along the way there is time for a coffee and for souvenir shopping. And if you fancy sitting down to try roast suckling pig, the dish Segovia is famous for, tell us when you book and we will help you get a table.
Afterwards we drive back to Madrid and drop you off at your accommodation. Six to seven hours in total.
The price is fixed per group of up to 3 people and includes fuel, tolls, parking and the Alcázar entry. Food and drinks are not included.
Travelling with children? We have a child seat available at no extra cost: just let us know when you book.
