Further information

The city of three cultures, from the inside

We start at the Puerta del Cambrón, the old Jews' Gate, and pass the Arquillo del Judío into the lanes of the Jewish quarter, where the Star of David, the menorah and the word Sefarad are still on walls and paving. We go inside Santa María la Blanca, built by Muslim craftsmen for a Jewish congregation; the Casa del Judío, a private house our guide opens with his keys, whose cellar reads as a possible mikveh; the church of Santo Tomé, with El Greco's Burial of the Lord of Orgaz; and we finish at the Synagogue of El Tránsito and the Sephardic Museum, with the 1492 expulsion. On the way, a marzipan figure at Santo Tomé.

The price

€239 per group, up to 25 people. Over 25, a second guide is needed and quoted. Admissions, €11 per person (Santa María la Blanca €4, El Tránsito €3, Santo Tomé €4), are added when you book. The Casa del Judío and the marzipan are free. Transport from Madrid is not included: we meet in Toledo.
